Decades Of PS In One Bedroom,Driver Questioned And More...

Decades Of PS In One Bedroom

Hard to believe, but the original PlayStation -- the one that crushed the Sega Saturn in what may have been the most lopsided console war ever -- is old enough to vote.
Now 18 years old, the PlayStation brand has been around for some serious cultural shifts. In 1995, when the first system hit shelves, online gaming was fringe, John Madden still appeared in his own games, and Grand Theft Auto didn't yet exist.
Of course, monumental changes have taken place outside of the gaming world as well. To help illustrate them in a fun way, Sony created a four-minute video full of PlayStation memories that takes place over an 18-year period in one bedroom.
It's a nice bit of nostalgia ahead of the PlayStation 4 launch next month, but one commenter on YouTube raises an interesting question. If the video features the same guy, and he's in his teens in 1995 and still living at home in 2013, perhaps he needs to spend a little less time playing videogames. Just saying.
Cops Quetions To The Philly Museum Driver
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say they've questioned the driver of a car seen going down the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps made famous in the movie "Rocky."
Videos posted online show the BMW convertible slowly making its way down the long, wide staircase at about midnight Thursday before speeding off.
Photographer HughE Dillon runs the local entertainment website PhillyChitChat.com and lives nearby. He posted one of the videos online.
The district attorney's office says the car caused about $8,000 in damage to the steps and prosecutors have approved a felony charge of criminal mischief against the driver.
Police say they won't charge the driver until they can determine if a mechanical problem was to blame.
The driver's name hasn't been released.
The steps have become a popular tourist attraction since Sylvester Stallone run up them in "Rocky."

The End For Wii

Nintendo’s best-selling home console to date, which moved over 100 million units, has finally been retired. Kotaku noticed on Monday that Nintendo has updated its Japanese product page for the Wii with a short phrase which translates to “production ended.” Some consoles live much longer lives than the Wii, such as the PlayStation 2 — which has been through several redesigns since its release in 2000 — but Nintendo has decided to cap off its previous generation by shutting down production of the Wii all together. Nintendo will refocus entirely on its very successful portable platforms and the year-old, flailing Wii U as a new set of challenges arise in the form of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Nintendo will do its best to build on a relatively strong September as it hopes to find its way to as many shopping lists as possible this holiday season.

1970s X-Men
Fox has released a very short teaser for Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past," alternating between images of the 1970s and a dismal future.
A few days ahead of the release of a full-length trailer, Fox is building buzz around the next X-Men film by releasing this short clip on Instagram. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this sequel to "X-Men: First Class" (2011), which explored the origins of Marvel's mutants.
"Days of Future Past," as suggested by its name, will alternate between different time periods. Hugh Jackman will return to the role of the Wolverine, who travels 50 years back in time to prevent a mutant genocide from being carried out by giant robots known as the Sentinels.
Arriving in theaters in May 2013, the film will include multiple actors who have played the various X-Men through the years. Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy will play Professor X in the two different time periods, while Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen will play two ages of Magneto. Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult also appear, as well as a few newcomers to the film series, including Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage and Fan Bingbing.
The full-length official trailer will be released on October 28, according to Fox.
